BLEND THE WHITE AND BLACK
As
I lie on my bed and ponder on the issues I have read on the internet and heard
about on the radio. I become disheartened with this issue of racial
abuse/racism. Each time I hear of it, I ask myself, why white
coloured people act this way. Basically, I see Racism as the feeling of being worthless and being victimized.
Racists feel wronged, unloved, very comfortable in blaming others, and most of
all lack self-love. In all cases dark skinned people (Blacks) are the
victims and the light skinned people (Whites) are the perpetrators. Racism is
very common in American and European schools, sports especially football,
workplaces, public places/social gatherings, buses/trains, media etc. To me there are no reasons or
excuses for racism. It's
just wrong. Racial abuse has a devastating effect on
the victim. Hey! Perpetrator, if you do not know the impact of your action, be
enlightened with these few findings.
Racism creates barriers to social and economic participation which
cause social exclusion and low self-esteem. Victims feel they are intruders who
are not part of the community they have known all their lives. Racial Abuse
affects the mental health of individuals. Victims are usually sad of their
plight, most at times depressed, always feels rejected, always living with the
fear of being verbally or physically attacked. A victim harbors mistrust and
incites hatred. Students who get abused at school always want to skip school.
Racism affects people's (victims) well-being when they are denied equal access
to jobs, education and other rights and privileges. Victims sometimes become
angry and violent. It destroys communities and creates divisions among it dwellers.
Societies get deprived of the opportunity to fully benefit from cultural diversity.
These effects can reduce
people's ability to work or study, and to achieve their future goals. Hey! Racist, each time this
evil action comes to mind think of how the black and white coloured skin of Panda works effectively together or how the black and
white keys of a piano blends together to produce harmonious sounds. Stop it,
its evil; After all whether black or white we will all die.
